Chicago Nursing Service

Chicago Home Health Aide

One of the many goals we strive to achieve as a leading home health care service provider is education. We believe that decisions are better and easier made when families have all of the information needed for making choices for care, that includes offering a deeper explanation of the types of services we offer.

For those clients who require Home Health Aide Assistance, Anuco Home Health offers these services. But some are confused about the duties of home health aides, how they administer care to clients, and how they interact with loved ones and other clinicians providing care.

This brief overview of the Home Health Aide duties our home health aides perform. This overview should give you a clear idea of what to expect, whether you’re a patient or a family member involved in the care decisions of the patient.

What Home Health Aides Do

A home health aide is someone who administers important care to the patient in his or her own home. The home health aide spends time with the patient, spending quality time with that individual, and helping him or her perform everyday, essential tasks that the patient is no longer able to perform for themselves. These are commonly referred to as activities of daily living or ADL’s.

Some of these responsibilities include light housekeeping and laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring the patient closely follows treatment plans and medication schedules. The home health aide can also help maintain the patient’s hygiene, assist the patient with taking medications, and, most important, tracking and documenting care and reporting any changes in the patient’s condition to registered nurses and physicians.

Who Needs Home Health Aide Care?

All types of patients may require nursing services from home health aides. Seniors are some of our most common clients, they wish to age in place and need help residing in the home. This is particularly beneficial for those who may have cognitive issues such as dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease and supervision is required to keep them safe and healthy.

Someone who is in recovery from an illness or an injury could also benefit from home health aide care services as well as an individual with a chronic illness that has prevented them from living their life as normal.

Home Health Aide Training Requirements

All of our Home Health Aides have received complex, extensive training and hands-on experience under the supervision of medical professionals. There is an examination that every home health aide must take before he or she is approved to administer care. The exam is given by a registered nurse for the purposes of determining whether the home health aide demonstrates a level of competency that meets the highest standards for professional care.

At Anuco Home Health care, we strive to staff our teams with the best home health aides in the industry because we take the health and safety of our patients very seriously. Our home health aide service providers understand that your loved one deserves only the best care possible.
